During our SOTG Homeroom from Student of the Gun University, we will examine the new law allowing teachers and school staff members in Tennessee to be armed at work. Tennessee is not the first state to arm teachers, though, based upon the behavior of the leftwing lunatics you would think this move is unprecedented.

A township in Michigan has declared itself a 2nd Amendment sanctuary and has invited all of the adult citizens of said township to become members of a citizens’ militia. Besides the Bill of Rights, is the existence of the militia codified by law in the United States?

Also, during our TechTalk from EOTech Inc. Professor Paul will address the use of a .22 rimfire cartridge as a primary self-defense tool. Is the .22LR the “best choice” for women or older Americans?

From www.tennessean.com:

Gov. Bill Lee signed into law Friday a controversial bill to allow school teachers and staff to carry guns in school.

The law goes into immediate effect.

House and Senate Republicans passed the bill, HB 1202/SB 1321, in the final weeks of the legislative session over the protests of school shooting survivors, teachers and gun-reform advocates.

Parents and most school staff will not be told who in the school has a weapon or where it might be stored. There are no safe storage requirements in the bill, and House Republicans in late April voted down a Democratic effort to codify them in the bill.

An 85-year-old woman fought off an armed home invader and killed him with a .357 Magnum she had hidden under her pillow, police said.

According to authorities in Idaho, Christine Jenneiahn was woken by 39-year-old Derek Condon around 2 a.m. on March 13th.

Prosecutors said the only other person in the home was Jenneiahn’s disabled son.

Condon handcuffed Jenneiahn to a chair in the living room and asked held a gun to her head as he demanded to know where she kept her valuables, authorities said.

At some point, while Condon was going through the house, Jenneiahn was able to drag herself to her room and retrieve the revolver beneath her pillow.
