While the results have been predominantly positive, the Chicago Tribune is still concerned that shootings involving concealed carry enthusiasts are becoming more prevalent in Illinois. Despite numerous justifiable uses of deadly force by licensed gun carriers the Trib is bothered by the trend.

The most critical component in self-defense is not a gun, it is a determined mind. The would-be victim in this case had both the will and the tool to stop a rapist from completing his assault. That led us to a question from a caller about what criteria to look for in a quality folding knife.
Yet again we are treated to a half-answer to firearms related accidents and negligence. Rather than educate both adults and children in the Four Universal Firearms Safety Rules, instead you can spend $300. Is it so hard just to learn to do the right thing?

The villain in this story did not use a firearm. No, little Johnnie Jihad proved yet again that bad people will find a weapon to use to harm good people. Disarming good people does not inhibit the evil from gaining and using tools to harm the them.

The Labor Day weekend resulted in, you guessed it, another ritualistic bloodletting in the Second City. Chicago PD reported the death toll from the holiday weekend as eight confirmed dead and 46 wounded. We eagerly await Little Rahmy and Gary “The Enforcer” to call for more gun control laws.
NYPD proved once again the wisdom of the so-called “New York Trigger.” Big Apple cops launched 84 rounds at a single suspect and connected with one single hit, in the bad guy’s leg. The disturbing trend of people injuring or even killing themselves while snapping self-portraits with their phones continues. This time a man or teen, depending on which news story you read, apparently shot himself while in the process of snapping a self-portrait.
Our friend Ben “Mookie” Thomas released the official promo video of a new rifle from Spike’s Tactical. The inscription on the rifle will make one group of people think twice. Three police officers were murdered in the United States in less than a week. Two of the crimes are unsolved with the killers at large. Are we witnessing the deadly fruits of the decades long Class Warfare campaign?

Are you an NRA member? According to a person blogging as “Dadscribe” being an NRA members means that you support “violent death” and that you endorse “gun deaths” (though we don’t know how a gun can ‘die’). Yes, the recipient of the Vagination Award was so frightened by the sight of an NRA decal on a car that he wrote an entire article detailing his fear and subsequent indictment of all NRA members.
