Warning Shots: Bad Idea. The Governor of Florida signed several pro-gun pieces of legislature last week. One bill de-criminalized the “warning shot” under some circumstances. Despite this effort to protect victims of attacks from government repercussions, Professor Paul has some advice to offer in that regard.

You comment that the only application for warning shots are from war ships. I have been in corrections for 28 years and we use warning shots if an inmate is attempting to breach the outer fence, or off a yard tower during an assault. I agree they are a bad idea for CCW or home protection, but they are used in corrections. Under the towers are sandpits to shoot into.
