OC vs CCW. The Missouri House successfully overrode Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of pro-gun legislation. Amongst other aspects, the new law makes it legal to open carry in Missouri under certain circumstances.
With Open Carry yet again in the national spotlight, it is time to discuss a verbiage change. Members of the gun culture have been wrangling with each other for years over this topic. Professor Paul has a suggestion that should bring everyone in the choir together and have them singing from the same sheet.

The flaw in “Constitutional Carry” is that you have the right to defend yourself whether or not a Constitution even exists. The Constitution doesn’t grant you any rights. Constitutional Carry is still asking permission from the Government.
Open Carry has always been always been legal in MO. The problem was that the municipalities could pass ordinances to restrict open carry, and most of the local police couldn’t keep track as to whether of not it was legal to do even when it’s their job to enforce the ordinance, so there was no was no way for the average person to keep track of it either.
This legislation’s real benefit will be to concealed carry guys whose gun gets accidentally get seen when they reach for something on the shelf at Costco while in a city that didn’t previously allow open carry.

Good idea…it’s all in the name isn’t it? As long as they can divide us they will stop us, we need to be a united group!
We, here in Iowa, are one of 6 states that do not have any 2A provision in our State Constitution….I’m a member of the Iowa Firearms Coalition and we have been trying to get the ball rolling on getting a 2A provision added but we’ve been running into strong opposition from the Democratic leadership in the Senate….we’re still fighting!!
