The news cycle and social media have been inundated with talk about a supposed new solution to the less-than-lethal / deadly force conundrum. “The Alternative” is a new device that claims to “bridge the gap” between deadly force and less-than-lethal.

We have an in depth discussion about what justifies deadly force and the history of less-than-lethal alternatives. Professor Paul pokes some rather large holes in the assertion that “The Alternative” could have changed the outcome of the Michael Brown felonious attack on a police officer.
