From www.breitbart.com:
It is January 1, 2018, which means law-abiding Californians can no longer buy ammunition out-of-state or possess an unregistered AR-15 with a bullet button accessory.
On December 13, 2017, Breitbart News reported that California’s war on guns was about to expand to a war on ammunition, and January 1 marks the day that the war on ammunition begins.
Currently, law-abiding Californians must buy their ammunition from a licensed in-state ammunition dealer. This means that Californians who buy ammunition online must have that ammo shipped to a licensed in-state dealer and pay that dealer a fee when picking up the ammo.
These controls immediately lessen the supply of ammunition, thereby driving up the price for those who demand it. Also, these controls set the stage for phase two of ammunition control, which will consist of requiring a point-of-sale background check for ammunition purchases starting January 1, 2019. The point-of-sale background check will also carry a processing fee, which will drive the price of ammunition even higher.
From www.foxnews.com:
California became a “sanctuary state” Monday, as a bill that Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law in October officially took effect.
The law bars police in the nation’s most populous state from asking people about their immigration status or participating in federal immigration enforcement activities in most cases, Fox News reported.
The Golden State is home to an estimated 2.3 million illegal immigrants.
“These are uncertain times for undocumented Californians and their families, and this bill strikes a balance that will protect public safety, while bringing a measure of comfort to those families who are now living in fear everyday,” Brown said on the day he signed the bill.
But the measure has drawn a rebuttal from an unidentified source, as signs mocking the law have appeared below the “Welcome to California” signs that greet motorists as they enter from Arizona and Nevada.
From www.breitbart.com:
The National Rifle Association is readying a lawsuit against California’s new ammunition controls and that suit focuses on the failure to meet “statutorily mandated” deadlines throughout the lead-up to the launch of the controls.
Breitbart News reported that the ammunition controls went into effect January 1, 2018. They bar out-of-state ammunition purchases and require that all in-state purchases be made from a licensed dealer. This shrinks the supply, which will inevitably drive up price. Moreover, they require that any ammunition purchased online be sent to a licensed in-state dealer, who will then charge a processing fee for the ammo, thereby driving the price up even further.
This is all a prelude to the state’s January 1, 2019, goal of instituting point-of-sale background checks for ammunition purchases. Those sales will also carry a fee, ubiquitously to cover the cost of the background check. But the fee will drive the price of ammo even higher.
The NRA-ILA clams certain “statutorily mandated” deadlines were missed throughout the process of getting the ammunition controls in place, and argues that the controls must be halted because of this. According to the NRA-ILA, “The Office of Administrative Law (OAL) has approved the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) proposed ammunition vendor regulations after failing to meet the statutorily mandated deadline of July 1, 2017 and the effective date of January 1, 2018.”

I understand that some people may not know or understand what it is like to live in heavily numbered Blue State where you have to keep the warrior mindsets and keep battling for your rights even though your voice and/or votes don’t even make a noise. But, I was hoping that everyone in the “Gun Community” would have a clear understanding and back each other up in the face of adversity instead of driving a wedge between us. It’s plan ignorance to think everyone to think everyone from a “Slave State” voted for it to be that way when in reality they are people being out numbered. It’s no different than someone saying it’s everyones fault in the USA for having Obama or any other President in the White House for 8yrs when not everyone voted for him. The point being we should have each other’s backs instead of having some just hiding their heads in the sand and acting like nothing is going on or having a owell not my State kind of attitude. Us freedom loving Americans need to stay united.
Hi Nick,
Thanks for listening. I understand your concern here… We are helping as much as we can. Sometimes tough love is more effective than being an enabler. The Slave States that we talk about have continued to constrain the citizens of the state.
Obviously we know that not everyone voted for it, but those who didn’t aren’t fixing the problem. There continues to be proof of liberties being eroded away. The BEST solution is to move to a state that doesn’t hate you.
I agree that us freedom loving Americans need to stay united. While many of us are making the changes needed to fight the oppression, there are also many of us that are choosing to stay comfortable and support these slave states with their tax dollars.
How can we unite with those who are not willing to do sacrifice their comfort for the community as a whole?
Sincerely,
Jarrad
