20 years ago I lived in Massachusetts and went thru NRA hand gun orientation I remember being told that it was illegal to assist a police officer in a gun fight. Do not live there any more, but it fits into todays talk. May no longer be true, but it was so odd I remember it clearly.
What about DUI checkpoints that the police, sheriff or highway patrol conduct? (usually around the holidays) Are these legal? New Mexico, Arizona, California and Texas also have internal border patrol checkpoints? Why are more people not opposed to this? Like you said in this show…. If we are traveling down the road in the US, we should not be forced to stop without probable cause. Just because I am driving from Las Cruces, NM to Alamogordo, NM does not mean I am smuggling drugs or people and I should be allowed to continue on my way…..thoughts?
My own experience, the closer to dense urban areas the more law enforcement officers are opposed to armed citizens. They seem to forget who they were before joining law enforcement, and who they will become again once they leave active duty.
