Christmas weekend was another record setting event in Chicago. Over the long Christmas weekend Chicago’s thug element pushed the annual murder rate to a record high with more that 700 people being killed in the Chicagoland area in 2016. Are the consummate slow-learner a top the CPD learning anything yet? We shall see.
We have an almost Go Team moment from Georgia. The subject of the story shows us how not to be an armed citizen.
During the SOTG Homeroom segment from Crossbreed Holsters, Professor Paul has a very serious question to ask you all. Are you prepared physically and mentally to react when Johnny Jihad walks into your favorite mall, church, or school?

From www.foxnews.com:
Waffle House waitress in Georgia says she was fired for shooting her gun at three fleeing robbers.
Heather (Shorty) Burkinshaw-Stanley said she was only trying to defend herself and her co-workers, The Newnan Times-Herald reported Sunday.
“I was in fear for my life, my co-workers’ lives, and I did what I thought was right,” she told the paper.
Three men ate at Burkinshaw-Stanley’s Waffle House early Thursday. Instead of paying for their meal, the men gave the cashier a note threatening to shoot everyone if their demand for money from the register wasn’t met, the paper reported.
Police said they left after another waitress gave them $200.
Burkinshaw-Stanley said her gun was in her car.
“I safely fired a round in the air in an attempt to scare the robbers who were in the process of getting in their vehicle, not knowing if they were retrieving their weapon to return to the Waffle House,” she said on GoFundMe. “My shot must have gotten their attention as they rapidly drove off.”
The paper reports that Burkinshaw-Stanley was told she was fired on Friday. She had worked at the Waffle House for two years.
A Waffle House spokesman declined to discuss the matter, the paper reported.
Burkinshaw-Stanley said she was seeking donations because she is raising three kids and her husband is disabled.
From libertyparkpress.com:
“These gun offenders have repeatedly shown us that they’re not going to play by society’s rules.”
As the Chicago death toll rises, officials are beginning to understand that stricter gun control laws will have no effect on people who kill people. They do not care about the rules.
“It is self-evident that people who kill people do not obey laws.”
Chicago’s record-breaking gun death toll topped 750 this year yet they have some of the strictest gun laws in America. As the death toll rises with each new restriction, even the Chicago Police Chief may be joining the ranks of those who want to rethink their gun laws.
The controversialtimes.com reports that:
The strict gun laws in Chicago have been criticized by various parties; many citing that they are not having a positive effect as the murder rate keeps rising. The head of the Chicago Police Department agrees. He openly admitted that the Chicago murder rate is rising as gun controls tighten and that gun criminals don’t “play by society’s rules.”
According to ABC News, at least 27 people were shot, 12 of them fatally, over the Christmas weekend. That number is reportedly double the amount that took place last Christmas.
Chicago Police Superintendent, Eddie Johnson, gave a news conference on Monday to address the growing concern of gun violence in the city. Johnson detailed that most of the shootings took place over Christmas weekend between Friday evening and Sunday.
He claimed that the killings over the holiday weekend were “targeted attacks” by gang members going after rival gang members who were gathered for Christmas and holiday parties.
The Chicago Tribune also reported that 90 percent of those fatal shootings over the weekend were gang related, or the shooter had a criminal history which further cements the notion that stricter gun laws don’t stop gun violence.
The ever growing number of deaths marks the first time in over two decades where 700 or more have died as a result of gun violence.
The police superintendent told WLS-TV, “These gun offenders have repeatedly shown us that they’re not going to play by society’s rules.”
Since they refuse to play by society’s rules, Johnson has purposed a new punishment, stating repeat offenders need to face tougher penalties for the crimes they commit. He’s also piloting a new CPD program designed to help the police officers know and understand the people they work with. He explains that “Even in the worst part of our city, there are a lot of really good people.”
